The Raw Weekend Experience

Optimised Living is proud to present the ultimate weekend living food encounter for singles, couples or small groups!

Your journey of discovery begins on either a Saturday morning or Saturday afternoon, subject to availability. You will be greeted with a living juice and then your learning experience begins with a practical session of sprouting various types of seeds, pulses and beans, followed by growing wheatgrass and other tray greens, if time permits. You will then be introduced to the various pieces of equipment recommended for use in a living foods kitchen. After a short break, the fun continues with a demonstration of how to prepare a full 3 or 4 course raw dinner, which you will then enjoy with your hosts. Learn how to prepare delicious raw desserts that would not be out of place at the best restaurant in town!

For those opting for the “live-in” experience, there will be free time in the evening for a walk after dinner, for private reading in the library, or for discussion with the hosts on any topic. Those staying at a local B&B are free to go to their accommodation whenever they choose.

On Sunday, those living in will be able to join the hosts for a morning run or walk, or other exercise of their choice. The house is close to the river, which is good for mountain bikes, running or walking. There is also the facility for an indoor gym if the weather proves inclement, with a rebounder and yoga mats available. Green juices and/or wheatgrass juice will be available prior to morning exercise. Guests staying in local B&B accommodation would join us after exercise. Then comes a demonstration in how to make the best post-exercise smoothies ever! The weekend will continue with further demonstrations tailored to the needs or requests of the individual and may include more advanced sprouting and growing techniques, use of the dehydrator and bread-making, further food-prep classes etc.

After lunch, which again guests will have the opportunity to prepare and enjoy, there will be time for questions. If required, personal consultations can be arranged after Sunday lunch if booked in advance (paperwork must be completed and received 1 week prior to arrival for a consultation, so advanced booking is essential). The weekend finishes at 4pm to allow guests sufficient time for travelling home.

In summary, this presents a unique opportunity to learn more about the living foods lifestyle with two enthusiastic hosts who are living it on a daily basis. If choosing the live-in option, the opportunity to learn even more is presented, with particular reference to easily integrating living foods into a “normal” life.
